Grape Harvest at the Chateau Pape Clement

From mid September to the end of October, the Château Pape Clément vineyards hum to the harvest rhythm. At the end of September you can lend a hand in selective picking of multiple varieties of white grapes, take part in the long slow pressing and in stirring the lees. Such fastidious care has resulted in this wine being awarded 100 out of 100 by Robert Parker, on a number of occasions. In October when the early mornings are cooler, you will have the pleasure of observing firsthand the harvest of the Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. After harvesting, comes the time to hand destem, where patience and care are of the essence while taking the grapes off of the stem, one by one. After your initiation into the oenological arts you will be at viticulture’s very heart and be able to share some of the secrets of the wine masters.
